Crestone, CO: One of the most beautiful settings in Colorado. My brother in-law described his first time in Crestone as a transformative experience, where he experienced the energy flow of the mountains and surrounding plains almost like Sedona but that there was something ethereal and otherworldly about the place. This is a small town located 10 miles north of Great Sand Dunes National Park, so bring your sand wedge and a bunch of extra golf balls as you try to chip out of the world’s largest sand trap. Never before did I have so many people taking pictures of me as that time with my golf clubs in the Dunes!
Great hiking right up against the Sangre de Cristo, or Blood of Christ Mountains, 4 14,000′ peaks right nearby make for great escapes on foot. The area is known for its spiritual retreats, featuring Buddhist temples, and more. People just seem to gravitate to this one of a kind part of Colorado.

How Easy Is It to Get to Crestone and to the Surrounding Areas?
Notes
The Baca Grande POA (property owners’ association) governs the area. Not positive about RV access during construction, but I believe once you have had your construction plans approved for the dwelling (must be at least a 900 sq ft structure), there are options for construction facilities that could involve temporary dwelling unit. I am attaching the Baca governing document here.
